Prepping for Graduation

There's a lot for a senior to look forward to his senior year: homecoming, prom, senior skip day, pep rallies, football games, making your final college decision, and the last of it all, graduation.  When I was a senior, and being the odd-ball that I am, I wasn't into the senior stuff.  I didn't go to our picnic, I didn't play in the powderpuff football game, or really participate in any of that.  Looking back, I seemed to be more concerned with the upcoming fall, the dress I'd wear for graduation, and my graduation party - the important things... 

Here on May 22, the time has come for many families and friends to celebrate their graduates.  Here on May 22, my brother, Kyle, will be graduating.  It's amazing that four years ago, I was doing the same thing and from the same high school.  I'm sure most graduates are feeling a bit nostalgic as they look at old pictures from the years when they first started school, nervous about their future as some pack their bags and move into an uncomfortable place away from home, and yet, so thrilled for their next stage in life.  

I know that the time during graduation is very special.  The party my parents had for me was so perfect.  I felt so encouraged with all my friends and a lot of my family there celebrating my past and future with me.

So, congratulations to all of the 2012 Seniors!  Enjoy this sweet time celebrating with family and friends!

End of May

I haven't visited home since Christmas, and now, on this hot afternoon at the end of May, I'm sitting here at my old desk taking in the moment.  My last trip home was quite busy - it being the days leading up to Christmas and all.  I didn't have many opportunities to sit quietly in my old room.  I learned my lesson from that.  During these past five months in California, I definitely wished more than once that I had saved a few of these moments in my pocket for when I needed them.  I'm able to relax here.  I'm able to get rejuvinated and refreshed.  I can clear my mind and realign my focuses for my life.  

I'm so looking forward to my time here with my family and friends.

It's ironic, and terribly sad, that the last thing I said to you were my kind of New Year's resolutions... Two and a half months ago....

Anyway, I won't think too far into how pathetic that is busy I've been.

My main announcement today is that I got an iPhone (FINALLY) about a month ago and I'm now apart of the Instagram world.  I think a fun and quick way to update you will be showing you some pictures from the past month or so via Instagram:

2012

Cheers to 2012

With almost a week into 2012, I'm finally writing out my goals and ambitions for the year.  I thought I would do something creative with my written-out goals...

I'm obsessed with Christmas lights, or any kind of lights similar to them.  So, I decided to stream lights around my room and clip the pieces of paper on the lights.

So, rather than keeping them hidden in a journal for a year, they'll be out for me to see every night.  And I think they'll look so pretty and inspiring that way.

Blessings to you all during 2012!  And thank you for following Chichi Couture.  You're all so encouraging and sweet with your comments.  I'm so looking forward to seeing what's to come this year!
